Florida Panthers practice lines shift as Brad Marchand and Matthew Tkachuk watch, while Sam Reinhart stays glued to Anton Lundell.

The top unit stayed familiar with Eetu Luostarinen on the left of Lundell and Reinhart, and Carter Verhaeghe remained with Sam Bennett. The eyebrow raiser was A.J. Greer hanging in that second-line spot.
Behind them, the rotation told the story of a banged-up roster and a coach hunting for clean five-on-five reps. Sandis Vilmanis worked with Evan Rodrigues and Mackie Samoskevich, while Jesper Boqvist landed next to Luke Kunin and Jack Studnicka.
On the back end, Gustav Forsling and Aaron Ekblad were kept together, then Niko Mikkola slid with Uvis Balinskis. Donovan Sebrango with Jeff Petry feels like a «keep it simple, first pass» pairing you protect with starts.

Brad Marchand absence tests Florida Panthers depth

And yeah, as a fan, seeing Marchand and Tkachuk skating but not taking line rushes makes every drill feel like a roster math problem. Marchand is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury, and he and Reinhart are both sitting on 23 goals with Marchand leading the team at 46 points.
That's why Vilmanis is suddenly a real subplot, not just a nice camp story. The 21-year-old was a 2022 fifth-round pick, 157th overall, and he's been producing in Charlotte with 19 points in 31 AHL games this season.
Jameson Olive's practice update is here.
Florida just won Sunday in Ottawa, and the box score screamed «depth answers.» Rodrigues, Verhaeghe, and Forsling scored, which fits the idea of spreading puck touches and attacking off the forecheck instead of waiting for one star play.
If Marchand and Tkachuk stay out short term, this mix is about straight-line entries and second-chance looks, not fancy east-west stuff. Greer's job is to get inside, and that opens space for Bennett to play his usual chaos game until the lineup heals.
