Aleksander Barkov, Florida Panthers captain, keeps Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital close even while sidelined.

A post from the hospital on Thursday hit right in the feels, Barkov spent the day with patients and made the room about them, not him. That is leadership, even without a stick in his hands.
The same post says his #BarkovScores4JoeD total is now $515,200 across seven seasons, and I hope that number keeps climbing. What we can verify publicly is the long-running structure, $1,600 per goal and $800 per assist, and a donation total that was already over $420,000 after the 2023-24 season.

Aleksander Barkov lifts Florida Panthers community

As a Panthers fan, this is the stuff that makes you proud to wear the logo in South Florida. Barkov's game is built on details too, he wins pucks, protects the middle, and sets a serious standard.
His 2024-25 line was still a captain's line, 71 points in 67 games, plus a 56.5% faceoff rate and 34 takeaways. He also took home the Selke and the King Clancy, which tells you his impact is both on-ice and off-ice.
Barkov is 30 now, drafted second overall by Florida back in 2013, and he is signed at a $10 million cap hit through 2029-30. Superstars can hide behind distance, he chooses the opposite, and that choice matters.
If you want this post to travel in Florida, treat it like a highlight, share it, talk about it, and tag a friend who only shows up in June. Community stories grow the game faster than any billboard.
There will be another milestone soon, another goal, another assist, another visit, and it's worth remembering what kind of captain the Panthers have.
