Matthew Tkachuk shows up in Columbus with Noa Gaudreau, and the hard-nosed Florida Panthers star suddenly looks like pure heart in the middle of a grind.

A photo was shared Wednesday night, saying Tkachuk spent time with Noa the night before Florida plays the Columbus Blue Jackets.
It's a small moment, but it lands like a punch. This is the same guy who lives on chirps, crosschecks, and chaos.
Columbus still carries Johnny Gaudreau's memory everywhere, and nobody in the league needs reminding why that city feels different now.
Tkachuk and Gaudreau shared real history in Calgary, the kind that doesn't fade just because jerseys change.
The timing hits even harder because Tkachuk just lived an emotional stretch on the biggest stage.
At the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics, he helped Team USA win gold, then carried Johnny Gaudreau's No. 13 jersey onto the ice during the celebration.
That tribute wasn't performative. It was a teammate saying, «You're still here,» in the loudest way possible.
On paper, this is still a hockey story too. Tkachuk has 5-5-10 in 10 games this season, and Florida needs that edge every night.
The Panthers have been scrapping around the playoff line, sitting at 30-27-3, so nobody gets to coast into March.

Matthew Tkachuk shows Florida Panthers what leadership looks like

Panthers fans love the snarl, but they love this even more, because it proves the heart behind the act is real.
This is what makes Tkachuk such a force. He can tilt a game with emotion, then turn around and handle a human moment with zero cameras needed.
It also says something about Columbus. Players keep showing up there with respect, because they know what that room and that family lost.
If Florida comes out flat against the Jackets, people will talk systems and legs. But if they come out flying, this kind of night can be part of the reason.
Hockey is still a business, but it's also a brotherhood. Sometimes you see it in a handshake line, and sometimes you see it in a quiet photo.
The next milestone is Thursday's game, and Tkachuk has a chance to play his usual nasty, while carrying the right kind of weight with him.
